Zombies vs Cheerleaders TPB Vol. 2

In this month's Previews magazine you'll find Zombies vs. Cheerleaders TPB volume 2, with a cover by me! It also possibly has the fun little six page story I did with Eric Esquivel, too? Let's assume it does! [EDIT: It does!] This is only my third comic cover ever and my first trade cover so I am very excite!

If you're looking to high five me I'll be at the Toronto Comicon this weekend, March 9-10th. I'll have a new print on hand, and I'll be doing sketches and whatever else you need from me. Seriously, bro. I'm here for you.

Robyn Hood vs Red Riding Hood #1

I'm pleased to announce my latest project, Robyn Hood vs Red Riding Hood #1, a 40-page one-shot written by Pat Shand for Zenescope Entertainment. It's the most fun I've ever had penciling anything, so I hope it shows! In finer comic shops continent wide March 27th, 2013! Pick it up!

Supermen

Superman: The Quest for Post-1980s Relevance. Can you name all the Supamans?

Winter Wolvieland

I hated this costume as a kid but it's really grown on me. Please file this drawing under "Looks Better In Person".

Wreck-It Ralph

I finally caught Wreck-It Ralph with some friends the other night and it was pretty fantastic. I drew this for Spitballin' Comics prior to actually going, though, and it ended up being the most popular thing I ever posted to Tumblr, getting like 1200 notes. Seeing it allowed me to feel less like a poseur. If you haven't seen it, check it out. It's considerably better than Brave (and I actually like Brave a lot better than most).

Jack Rabbit and Turtle Girl 2012

More from the sketch book, first time drawing my OCs Jack Rabbit and Turtle Girl in (I believe) years. They weren't very easy to recapture since a lot of my design choices back then were subconsciously based on an inability to draw. The more things change, etc.

Lt. Uhura sketch

Psst... it's a sneaky peek preview of my next contribution to Spitballin'. Wreck-It Ralph week hasn't wrapped yet, but once it does Stark Trek week kicks in and I'll be posting this over there, too. Don't tell nobody. This is a between me and you deal.

Batwoman sketch

I drew this in my sketch book to cover pink marker that leaked through from the previous drawing (rather than cut the page out which I've done in the past). I figured strategic black and red would cover it nicely. It did. And then when I coloured this I forgot to put scrap paper behind it again. I'm a real square.

Miscelanious Spitballs

Some recent-ish contributions of mine to the group sketch blog Spitballin' Comics. Here's Japanese super robot Grendizer dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight.
Timothy Drake, Robin III. At some point when I was drawing this I thought it was going to be amazing. It turned out to not really be all that amazing. Oops.
Our Halloween theme this year was icons of 80s horror. Though I've never seen a Friday the 13th film that actually had Jason Voorhees in it, I drew Jason Voorhees anyway.
Darwyn Cooke-inspired Parker from the Parker books and graphic novel. I've just told you everything I know about Parker.

My sketch book take on an Aqua-classic. At one point I was going to colour the whole background but then I remembered Copics are expensive.

Classic 60s Wasp from the moleskin sketch book. I thought about printing out some of these but I'd really need a scanning ninja to do it properly for me. They always look so much nicer in the book.

I think this is one of the great superhero costumes, by the way, though I recognize it would look pretty out of  place nowadays. When Janet inevitably comes back from the dead I hope she brings back the thorn-head look.

Hellcat sketch

Did this in my sketchbook while at a comics event last week that turned out to be kind of dead. I picked Patsy Walker because I thought her costume would be really easy to do out of my head. Still got some details wrong, but you can't win 'em all!
