September 2012 Spitballs

Swamp Thing! Nightcrawler! Ben Grimm! After a summer hiatus, Spitballin' Comics came back in full force in September, and these were my contributions for the month. If you're not familiar with Spitballin' you should check it out--10 or so Toronto and GTA-based illustrators doing the best we can and working out twice a day.

Harley Quinn sketch

I don't really like this but I did draw this and it's important that you know the whole me. I wish you could see where the mallet-handle-nose attaches most of all. Mistakes were made.

I love it when I get commissioned to do characters I have a lot of affection for. Grayson's always a favorite, even in his silly original Nightwing duds (which isn't really that bad a costume outside of the Luke Cage neckline).

I had a work schedule kerfuffle and I’m left with some time to kill! Starting Friday I’ll be open for commissions again, and I’m looking to take as many as I can handle.

Simpler stuff runs cheaper, complicated stuff runs steeper. Don’t hesitate to ask! Busts, headshots, whatevs. I’m easy like Sunday morning, chief. I stopped doing colour commissions, though. Je m’excuse.

I have two left over commissions here from the last round that need to be sent off still, I’ll send them out with this batch after I feed the wolf.

Luke and Yoda

Never would I ever have thought I’d be doing Star Wars fan art, but I watched the original untouched trilogy a couple weeks ago and here we are. Empire’s my favorite (not even a contest really) and my favorite scenes in Empire are on Dagobah. I like to imagine that Luke and Yoda eventually did some bonding over his rations off-screen while training there, and Yoda told him stories of the old, pre-clone wars days in a rare moment of lucidity.
